Terms of Use
Career Assistant is operated by Tinkly LLC ("we", "us"). "You" means the person using Career Assistant. By signing up, texting Career Assistant or connecting an account to it, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Career Assistant.
1. The service
Career Assistant is a text message assistant that helps with internships and jobs. It answers questions, remembers what you share, checks in with reminders and follow-ups, and, if you connect accounts, finds information in them to help you.
You can connect Google (Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive), Notion and Slack. What the assistant can do with each one is listed in our Privacy Policy. Connected accounts are used to read information, edit the Notion pages you shared, save email drafts, and send emails and Slack messages only after you approve them.
Career Assistant is free and in a private beta. Features may change, pause or end, and the service may be unavailable at times. We do not promise any particular uptime.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
- Your account is tied to your phone number. Keep your phone secure, because anyone who can text from it can use your assistant.
- Only connect accounts that belong to you or that you are allowed to connect. If you connect a school or work account, you are responsible for following that organization's rules.
3. Emails and messages sent for you
By default the assistant only saves email drafts. It sends an email only after it shows you the exact recipient, subject and message, and sends a Slack message only after it shows you the exact message and the person or channel it goes to. You approve each one by text. Once you approve it, it is sent from your account as you, and you are responsible for it, just as if you sent it yourself. Sent emails and messages may not be possible to take back.
The assistant can edit the Notion pages you shared, but never deletes anything. Anyone who can see those pages in Notion can see its changes. Check important changes, and use Notion's page history if you need to undo one.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use Career Assistant to:
- break any law or anyone else's rights;
- harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;
- send spam or bulk unsolicited messages;
- access accounts or data you are not allowed to access;
- try to break, overload, probe or get around the limits or security of the service, or trick the assistant into ignoring its rules;
- copy, resell or build a competing product from the service.
We may limit, suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these rules.
5. Your content
You own the messages you send and the content in your connected accounts. You give us permission to store, process and send that content to our service providers as needed to run Career Assistant for you, and to review conversations to improve it, as described in our Privacy Policy. We review emails the assistant writes for you only if you agree, and you can change your answer at any time. We do not use your content to train AI models.
6. AI responses
Replies are written by AI and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important, such as deadlines, interview times, salaries or company details, before relying on it. Career Assistant does not give legal, financial, tax, medical or immigration advice, and it does not guarantee any job, internship or interview.
7. Other services
Career Assistant works with services run by other companies, including Apple iMessage, Sendblue, Google, Notion and Slack. Your use of those services is covered by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability, changes or actions.
8. Text messages
By texting Career Assistant, you agree to receive replies and follow-up messages from it. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Text STOP at any time to stop all messages and START to turn them back on.
9. Our property
Career Assistant, including its software, name and design, belongs to Tinkly LLC. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use it under these terms. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
10. Ending
You can stop using Career Assistant at any time by texting STOP. You can also ask the assistant to delete your data. After you confirm, it deletes your messages, saved notes, copies of emails it wrote and connected accounts right away, and they age out of backups within 14 days. We may suspend or end the service, or your access, at any time. Sections 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12 and 13 continue to apply after your use ends.
11. No warranty
Career Assistant is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
12. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Tinkly LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost opportunities, data or profits. Our total liability for any claim about Career Assistant is limited to $50. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
If your misuse of Career Assistant, or an email or message you approved, leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from that claim.
13. General
These terms and our Privacy Policy are the full agreement between you and us about Career Assistant. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a part right away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer these terms. We may transfer them if Career Assistant changes ownership.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is meaningful, we will text you before it takes effect. If you keep using Career Assistant after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can stop using it and ask us to delete your data.
